The difference is that Serbia went through a brutal civil war and 78 days of NATO bombing that severely damaged their infrastructure. I'd say there is a great deal of difference. The only way Tito's Yugoslavia worked was by him ruling with an iron fist and heavily borrowing from the west. When it came time for loans to be paid back, the utopia of Bratsvo & Jedinstvo collapsed. And please don't tell me that all countries borrow money. That's true, but at least there's some chance of the money being paid back and the debt being serviced. In communist Yugoslavia, there was never any chance of that. Communism spawns laziness because the government is expected to take care of everyone. There's no incentive to be productive on an individual level. He told back then that more then 70% of Nis’ population was albanian. This proves that albanians had more land then just Kosovo. Serbia back then took albanian land without asking. So please stop talking about Kosovo is yours. It was a part of yugoslavia at some point, but one thing is for sure. It has always been albanian and will continue to be so. Just because communism will always lose direct economically fight with capitalism it does not mean that it is the worse system. It has its advantages too.
We can continue this conversation back and forward, and we will never agree on things. What I said earlier is, that we are all humans. At the end, when we will leave this place for good, all this, wont matter anymore - Whos land it was and who it belongs to now. Its important to talk to eachother and show respect. Yes we have a bloody history. Yes we were (still are) enemies. But the mayority of the people in Kosovo decided to be an independent country, because we, as albanians, were 2nd class citizens in Yugoslavia, eventhough we contributed the same way as all others. We have now decided to be a country, and what now? I find it sad that Serbia is having same mentality, like 20 years ago - that kosovo is theirs. There are many countries around the world who have been in war and some lands have been exchanged, but life goes on. So I would recommend to move on for Serbia and recognize Kosovo.

Yes my grand/grandfather said that, and its proven in turkish documents. what purpose did he have to say it if it was a lie? In that case he could say I come from north Europe. Many of the southern serbian villages and cities names have albanian meaning. Kastrat and Konjusa are albanian names. How did they end in serbia? Those names are today used by thousand albanians as a lastname. they took the names of the villages they came from. Read some history man instead of telling me goodnight stories
In medieval Serbia, Albanian tribes lived as sheperds and nomads. Whole Skadar valley and valley of river Drim was settled by Serbs only with support of Ottomans and Albanian had started to spread across Balkans, settling Kosovo and Metohija, central Serbia and Bulgaria. Albanian invaders were banished not just from central Serbia, but also 800 000 Albanian were banished from Bulgaria. Konjusa is serb name for place.

What purpose would the ottoman have to spread albanians in the balkans? The hated albanians because they always fought back and forced them to change religion. Stop talking BS. Albanians had kings and queens in that time, one of them Gjergj Kastrioti, who fought the ottoman. And your telling me they lived as sheperds and nomads? Read history. And by that not the manipulated serbian history.
