Syria recognizes Abkhazia, S. Ossetia as independent states

Syria and South Ossetia have agreed on mutual recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations, announced the website of South Ossetia's Foreign Ministry.

You mean the Principality of Serbia precedent? Since the Ottoman province of Sanjak of Smederevo, it was first to declare independence from Ottoman Empire. So, yes, it is your fault that Syria recognized Abkhazia and Ossetia.

Dictator Assad doesn't control his entire country, and he's going to recognize somebody.

Is this the same as the mighty nations of Somalia and Nauru recognising kosovaaa***? Oh wait, those countries where bribed and intimidated into it. Thank you Syria for supporting freedom, democracy and giving the middle finger to the US!
