The U.N. has not recognised Serbia as a state, either... So, what's your point? That Serbia is a state like Kosovo which has not been recognised by the UN?

Serbia has been a UN Member State since 1 November 2000.
(Sasa from near Jagodina, 3 May 2018 17:30)

Of course, dear, I've known that since 1 November 2000 and I'm glad that you finally realised it, as well.

Now back to the original topic of Serbia's recognition as a state... according to the UN, the UN has not recognised Serbia as a state. So, are you saying that the UN is wrong?!!!

Serbia has been a UN Member State since 1 November 2000.
Priorities of Serbia at the United Nations include: maintenance of international peace and security, promotion and protection of national interests in the framework of considering, within the UN, the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, fight against international terrorism, disarmament, realization of the sustainable development goals and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, including the issue of climate change, protection of human rights, and enhancement of the overall UN system activities.
Serbia contributes to the work of the UN via its membership of various bodies and specialized agencies of the United Nations. Serbia actively participates in the work of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) and its Committees. Mr. Vuk Jeremic, a representative of Serbia and the former Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs, presided over the 67th Session of the UNGA (September 2012 - September 2013). The topic of the 67th UNGA session was peaceful resolution of international disputes ("Bringing about adjustment or settlement of international disputes or situations by peaceful means"). UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon visited Serbia in 2012.
Serbia is a member of a number of organizations within the UN system:

Hopefully this will educate you poor Icj1

icj1, Serbia is a country and in the UN. Kosovo*** is a province of Serbia, and will NEVER be in the UN unless it remains with Serbia - which it will. Also, I know you troll all the articles, and you'll eventually find the one I just posted regarding US's support at the UN. Their support has dropped by 10% in one year - from 2016 2017. This is great for Serbia and doesn't bode well for that Albos - losing support on a global scale, and fast...

njegosh,

Serbs had the motive and the means to commit the crime. Serbs were proved to have commited multiple massacres throughout former Yugoslavia. Serbs buried and reburied the massacred victims in hope to not be discovered and many many more bodies remain unaccounted for.

Proof is all over Serbia, few feet underground - if only you could say the locations.

All politicians may have to meet with people whom they would perhaps prefer not to. It is part of their job. That does not mean, however, that they have to feel "honoured" to do so. I suspect that President Trump will not consider it an "honour" to meet with President Kim and vice versa. I am not going to spend any more time discussing this with someone who does not have the intellectual capacity to understand, or want to understand, this simple point. The discussion is closed.

Balkan Anthropologist

pre 6 godina

Haradinaj also said that "Kosovo and Catalonia have nothing in common" and that "the analogy makes no sense - because Kosovo was made through the breakup of Yugoslavia in a bloody process of all against all, while civil and political rights are respected in Spain."

He's absolutely right about the first part and, not surprisingly delusional about the second.

It is indeed an insult to compare Catalonia, a prosperous region of Spain with a noted history of development, democratic activism, and civil society that endured brutal repression first in Spain's civil war, and then forty years of absolute apartheid under Franco with Kosovo, an autonomous province of Yugoslavia that up until the last years of the 1980s enjoyed political, institutional, cultural, and linguistic autonomy only to have it repealed under Milosevic, which caused an extremist movement to take up arms against the state, petition the West to help in their war of secession, implement the same repressive measures on the Serbs that Milosevic imposed on them, and then actively work to subvert every international agreement geared towards conflict resolution.

Haradinaj's comparison would be laughable just by the fact he forgot about Madrid's state-sponsored repression over Catalonia for forty years. That he somehow excuses his own extremist past as somehow more noble than anything coming out of Barcelona reminds one how utterly stupid this man is when speaking off script.

According to you, due to self-respect, the Spanish PM should not shake hands with Haradinaj. And I guess this is because you don't like him as he doesn't give a damn about what Serbs assert about him.

Now, here is the hook for you. If all Serbian politicians are meeting him, like the most recent dinner in Skopje few days ago, where Serbian PM Brnabic had kebab with Haradinaj, does this make them less self-respectful then Rajoy?

Enlighten us please, is Rajoy bigger Serb than the Serbs themselves or perhaps Rajoy is the same old Catalan hater?

Really?! Then, since you are so educated, are you able to tell when did the UN recognise Serbia as a state?!
(icj1, 3 May 2018 05:09)

Serbia has been a UN Member State since 1 November 2000.

Of course, dear, I've known that since 1 November 2000 and I'm glad that you finally realised it, as well.

Now back to the original topic of Serbia's recognition as a state... according to the UN, the UN has not recognised Serbia as a state. So, are you saying that the UN is wrong?!!!

The U.N. has not recognised Serbia as a state, either... So, what's your point? That Serbia is a state like Kosovo which has not been recognised by the UN?
(icj1, 2 May 2018 03:52

icj1, Serbia is a country and in the UN.

Serbia is recognised as a country and has a seat in UN. You are wrong with your uneducated comments .
Serbia even votes on topics . In UN, KiM are a part of Republic of Serbia.
