I dont know why anyone might be surprised if a country refuses your entry. That is their decision and theirs alone. They have the right to deny entry to anyone that they deem dangerous for whatever reason. Every country has that right. Now if you enter illegally, you disobeyed the orders which in return you have to be held responsible. I am for one surprised that the authorities in Prishtina did not charge him for illegal entry, fail to obey and trespassing. The law in Kosovo states 6 months prison time for anyone committing that crime. From what i see the way the police acted was legal and in accordance to their laws.
If the serbs still are having trouble accepting that Kosovo is independent and you need to respect the laws there, that is their choice but do not be surprised if you get arrested for not respecting the law. Heck i am an Albanian with Canadian citizenship and have been refused entry to US for simply not having a satisfactory reason to enter US. The longer serbs deny Kosovo's statehood the longer reconciliation will take. We are talking about the future of our children on both sides. We have to accept reality and learn to live together side by side as two nations and invest in the future of our children. God bless our people

It was announced timely but it was 'cleverly' sabotaged.
Original intent as you see from the plan on the paperwork was quite low-profile.

Ether it was intentionally sabotaged or it was screwed up.

Given the answers from Kosovo it is more likely intentionally sabotaged.

That put Serbs in a corner:

1) If they do not proceed, they basically bow to Pristina. I.E. they can announce a visit - but Pristina is free just to disregard it and no answer will be interpreted as 'NO' and acknowledged.

2) If they proceed, they are correct - but they risk a scandal.

Serbs decided to go with #2 and the scandal happened.

It is a lose-lose for both.

Because if Pristina would just acknowledge the visit and no circus will happen - they will lose some respect from the nationalistic base. They decided to back that part of population. The visit itself does not look to be a major event.

The best solution would be for Pristina to acknowledge the visit timely, respond to the original e-mals but insist on the police escort 'for the safety' and that the Kosovo police escort will have Kosovo flag clearly displayed.

Since Serbs asked for police escort anyway, such response would put Belgrade in the corner, without any way out. And Pristina would display images of the Serbian delegation under police escort with Kosovo flags everywhere.

Pristina failed a clear win.

Well, the fact is Kosovo is not recognized by the majority of the population of the world (Especially China.). Another fact is Kosovo is heavily dependant on the help of the West. Thus Kosovo is not a state, end of the story.

The West (and especially Germany) is completely responsible for this mess. Kosovo' so-called "government" is indeed the puppet of the West, and if Germany had only said a sentence like "Release immediatly M. Juric or suffer the consequences", he would have been released in Kosovo. Thus, the West apparently don't want any compromises. They are only interested in humiliating and partitioning Serbia. The West are a bunch of hypocrites!

Original intent as you see from the plan on the paperwork was quite low-profile.

It is a lose-lose for both.

Because if Pristina would just acknowledge the visit and no circus will happen - they will lose some respect from the nationalistic base. They decided to back that part of population. The visit itself does not look to be a major event.

The best solution would be for Pristina to acknowledge the visit timely, respond to the original e-mals but insist on the police escort 'for the safety' and that the Kosovo police escort will have Kosovo flag clearly displayed.

Since Serbs asked for police escort anyway, such response would put Belgrade in the corner, without any way out. And Pristina would display images of the Serbian delegation under police escort with Kosovo flags everywhere.

Pristina failed a clear win.

Now if you enter illegally, you disobeyed the orders which in return you have to be held responsible. I am for one surprised that the authorities in Prishtina did not charge him for illegal entry, fail to obey and trespassing. The law in Kosovo states 6 months prison time for anyone committing that crime. From what i see the way the police acted was legal and in accordance to their laws.
If the serbs still are having trouble accepting that Kosovo is independent and you need to respect the laws there, that is their choice but do not be surprised if you get arrested for not respecting the law. Heck i am an Albanian with Canadian citizenship and have been refused entry to US for simply not having a satisfactory reason to enter US. The longer serbs deny Kosovo's statehood the longer reconciliation will take. We are talking about the future of our children on both sides. Kosovo' so-called "government" is indeed the puppet of the West, and if Germany had only said a sentence like "Release immediatly M. Juric or suffer the consequences", he would have been released in Kosovo. Thus, the West apparently don't want any compromises. They are only interested in humiliating and partitioning Serbia. The West are a bunch of hypocrites!

When the reply from Pristina arrived on Sunday at 11pm, Djuric was already in Kosovo I think. That, or he used the paths through the woods his predecessor Vulin knows about on Monday. My belief is he wanted to cause this whole mess.

Indeed the first Serbian announcement sent on Friday was sent on time, but never reached the Kosovo liaison office, because it was sent to the wrong adress.The second Serbian announcement "II NAŠA NAJAVA" sent on Saturday, was sent to the correct adress "l.o@rks-gov.net", and obviously reached the Kosova liaison office. The problem is, this time, it was in breach with two regulations of the abovementioned Agreement.1)It was sent during weekend.
