Nothing new here...not understanding why this is news!
Law enforcement here in the US have been doing this like...forever?

Indeed, I expected that if someone runs at the police with an AK-47 + an explosive device and yells "Allahu Akbar" they would give him a present for X'Mas / New Year / Chanukah. Darn, instead they maybe will shoot and kill him.
