FT: What's behind 16+1, and why EU fears China

The writing has been on the wall for quite some time. The EU bureaucrats think they can obtain loyalty through EU membership but provide little in terms of incentives. They punish Serbia to protect KLA terrorists, Bosnian Muslim fundamentalists and Croatian fascists but still expect loyalty? LOL! They are punishing Serbia to protect their ego, trying to legitimise their crimes.

China is on the rise and intends to take centre stage, it is on Serbia's side along with Russia. Most Eastern European and Balkan states know where the future lies and it's not with the Western Alliance. My God, just look at "Kosova"***, after the US got its camp bondsteel, it's thriving with..... corruption, crime and everyone is trying to escape. One failed project after another, all around the world, spreading death and destruction.

China is the future, Serbia is the future. Much investment pouring into Serbia these days.

Brussels won't take responsibility for its self-inflicted cluster*&uk in the Balkans. Ever the carrot, and that's just for the countries that have to to join, but they shafted Bulgaria out of billions of euros in free transit fees by killing off South Stream.

China is very large and now very rich and powerful because it has it has taken over the industrial revolution and manufacturing output is very high ! So money is in effect power and China has a lot of gold and silver now ! The EU and pretty much all of western Europe including some parts of eastern Europe are owned by Hitler ! The Roman Catholic Empire is a pyramid with the Eastern Orthodox Slavic Balkans at the bottom of the tier !So no matter what China does in Europe it will not benefit Srbija that much because Hitler will make sure the lid to the Eastern Orthodox Christians coffin stay nailed and sealed !!!

Oh no, the rich Western European countries are worried about China in Eastern Europe. What will happen when they become richer and begin to pull their own strings!?!? The only thing that they are worried about is control. That's the EU, a couple of rich countries that love to treat Eastern Europe like crap and control them. Say bye bye to 'do as I say and not as I do'. Eastern Europe is finally on it's own path thanks to China.

We need investment, and certainly we need better railroads. Instead of saying "You MUST say no to China", just come and build this railroad yourselves under same price and financing conditions that China offers. I'm not opposed to that.

Serbia must search somewhere to help it's economy and continue to remain stable since the EU accession process is likely to collapse or be further delayed. but I say this, Serbia must keep it's head above the water before its flooded with Chinese neo-colonialism. I think the reason why so many Central and Eastern European countries are relying on China is because philosophically they can't come to terms with the basic tenets of democracy and they are still nostalgic about their more autocratic pasts. So their people will need to force their politicians to change course and stick to western-style democracy, unless they also want to live in progressively more oligarchic states where dealmakers live the good life and common people are treated like Chinese workers are currently treated.
