"Kosovo led to Catalonia; West is empire of chaos"

The countries that cheered when Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union broke up and insisted on "independent Kosovo" now say Catalonia’s independence is unacceptable.

"That chaos will only result in more Kosovos ‒ today in Catalonia, God only knows where and when tomorrow ‒ until actual order is restored,"

I believe it's too late for that. There is no way of restoring order now.
There are no more principles one can rely on. Only opportunism remains.
It's a very unstable world, but we have to live in it.

Also pure RT oppertunism. Serbia has a legitimate historical point for saying Kosovo is Serbia and Catalunya has a legitimate historical point for independence like Nagorno Karabakh in the caucasus.

How do people like this get government jobs, one of the dumbest quotes I've ever seen and I live in a nation where Donald J Trump is the president.

Kosovo has nothing to do with Catalonia, nothing. The Catalans have been after independence since Kosovo was Serb-majority centuries ago. Every country has their issues, they are each unique situations.

Basques, Walloons, Tyroleans, Scots, Welsh, Irish, Californians, Ossettians, Abkhaz, Lombards, Kurds, Venetians, etc dont get their ideas and inspiration from Kosovars

Every time I've herd Mr Nebojsa Malic talk, he has always verged on the hysterical, west this west that. Who knows, perhaps if Serbia had embraked on a campaign of ethnic expulsion and murder, Kosova today would not enjoy the support it does from many places. Unlike the heavenly people, Spaniards have not resorted to burning villages. Poor excuse for a historian Mr Malic is

A Serb Nationalist blogger and hater of all that is "Western" (except for their money) is asked onto a propaganda TV show to discuss Kosovo and Catalonia. I wonder what he is going to say?

any different opinion is automatically labeled as "russian propaganda" without showing any proof or addressing the point with counter arguments...
(bishop, 31 October 2017 17:53)

No much of a counter argument is needed dear since even the title itself shows that this "analyst" has no clue what he is talking about.

"The countries that cheered when Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union broke up and insisted on "independent Kosovo" now say Catalonia’s independence is unacceptable." is a nonsensical comment. Spain is the main country which now says that Catalonia’s independence is unacceptable and Spain never insisted on "independent Kosovo". To the contrary, Spain has always opposed "independent Kosovo". If this so-called analyst is not aware even of that, not sure why anybody would waste time with the rest of his "analysis".

The breaking up the once "great" Soviet Union or Tito's false dream was bad? Think again. They were fascist nightmares. Of course some would love to go back to that kind of "order", just as in some of the murderous regimes in the Middle East. Those that do not know freedom prefer to be in cages like animals and ruled by a master.

this is exactly the type of propaganda that is prevalent in in main stream media in the US and UK...any different opinion is automatically labeled as "russian propaganda" without showing any proof or addressing the point with counter arguments...of course the only "good" analyst would be one that agrees with the US point of view...its like when a child throws a tantrum and blames his sibling for all of his or her issues...nonsense...

Breaking up the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia suited the western powers because it weakend their positions globaly.
Mind you, having said this this didn't need much interference from the West for both the Soviets and the Yugos were doing a great job of tearing up the status quo within their territoreis themselves.
Catalonia is within the EU and tearing up territories within this realm is a big NO-NO, it would weaken the blok.
Now this might suit the Soviets and by the past experiences of their meddling with the USA and French elections recently, who knows they could have had a hand in creating the current chaos in Catalonia.
One never knows
