Words Qatar and Cathar (aka Bogomils) are synonimous although the tragedy of the Cathars was misinterpreted and moved down from the 16-17 century. So maybe those who established this little state had Slavic roots. Thus their sultans might be of Bulgar, Macedonian or Serbian origin.
