Dont know if anyone has heard or read the speech given by the then US Ambassador to South Vietnam only a couple of months before the fall of Saigon. It was heart wrenching stuff about never giving up, supporting the South Vietnamese people and its government and how they could count on a valued and strong friend in the US.

Fast forward a couple of months and we see the US Ambassador declaring on the roof of the then US Embassy that the US won the war then got in a helicopter and left. Two hours later North Vietnamese tanks were rolling in the front gate. South Vietnam was also in the interests of the US.

As far as a Kosovo army, Mattis is full of it. Its crap talk because Moscow will not allow it LOL. Otherwise enjoy the misery called Kosova little Albos.

While Trump will demand that the governments of Kosova, Albania, Croatia, Montenegro contribute more $ to the NATO block for helping offset US expenditures this will be no problem whatsoever as the Albanians have a large diaspora which is slowely starting to invest "with the help of the US & EU of course" in the swaths of natural resources and proven reserves under their feet!
US and western made weaponry is also starting to make its way into the Albanian armed forces of the region & with time, and the strengthening of the Albanian economys will only increase in in scale! Time for radical Serbia to finally wake up!

It's too early to judge the new administration because of many objective reasons. So let us think what WE can do to bring peace to the region. Stop provoking one another first and try to hear the other side. Looks like the peninsula won't be paid much attention by the US and by Europe. The answer that Mattis gave by no means equates to Kosovo having any degree of priority within the new administration. At a confirmation hearing the proposed candidate has to answer whatever questions come his or her way. There is a whole plethora of issues to keep Mr Mattis busy should he be confirmed and I cannot see Kosovo being one of them. The dynamic between Trump and Mattis will be interesting with regard to the President's relationship with Putin and how policy in the Balkans in general is carried out. Will Donald defer to his underling as he seems to have done with the issue of waterboarding or will there be a more active hands on approach?

Why on earth would Serbia want to take Kosovo back??? Are they crazy? Serbia would not take Kosovo back if it was handed to them on a silver platter. It is perfect the way it is. Follow the money people. Most of Kosovo's products are from Serbia which helps Serbia massively on trade. Serbia does not need to fund Kosovo in any way which is helping their GDP grow. The end game is a partition in the north along ethnic lines and recognition to be independent with the caveat it may never join Albania. War costs money and with Kosovo's total natural resources worth $5billion, there is nothing there. The Albanians in Kosovo have only nationalism themes to live off. That is the distraction to this so called corrupt government in place. Serbia and Russia have Kosovo by the balls. The non-recognition in the UN means it must be funded constantly by private countries. The biggest benefactors are the Serbian exporting companies and the corrupt politicians. I was guided by a friend who was on business in Kosovo and he always stays in the same hotel in Pristina, never has vegetables from the menu and only meat that is imported outside of Kosovo. Other times returns to either Serbia or Montenegro for the night. Food was always carried into Kosovo so that we would not have to purchase anything there. That’s how.
This is what my government has on its website about Kosovo. It warns people to exercise a high degree of caution. To avoid all public gatherings, political rallies, demonstrations and protests as they may turn violent. A statement as such is not very conducive to tourism.
I never realised that depleted uranium does not affect Albanians in Kosovo as it appears to be a problem only in Iraq. However, “a confidential preliminary UN report leaked in May 1999, as the bombing continued, did not mince words: "This type of ammunition is nuclear waste, and its use is very dangerous and harmful," it said. After NATO released its figures, the UN recommended that "measures should be taken to prevent access." For Kosovars, like Iraqis, such warnings may be too late.”

In a way you're right and most of the Whites are the US Special Forces here. The question is how much does it meet your real interests? The answer that Mattis gave by no means equates to Kosovo having any degree of priority within the new administration. At a confirmation hearing the proposed candidate has to answer whatever questions come his or her way. There is a whole plethora of issues to keep Mr Mattis busy should he be confirmed and I cannot see Kosovo being one of them. The dynamic between Trump and Mattis will be interesting with regard to the President's relationship with Putin and how policy in the Balkans in general is carried out. I saw it last year, avoided eating anything down there since the surrounding area has deplete uranium which your allies have not paid to have it cleaned up. I would avoid the greens as they would be full of uranium vitamins. I wonder if National Geographic knew about that?

No I am not Mahatma Ghandi to par take in urine or a tree. It was only a couple of days so for that time it was bottled water from outside Kosovo. I was guided by a friend who was on business in Kosovo and he always stays in the same hotel in Pristina, never has vegetables from the menu and only meat that is imported outside of Kosovo. Other times returns to either Serbia or Montenegro for the night. Food was always carried into Kosovo so that we would not have to purchase anything there. That’s how.
This is what my government has on its website about Kosovo. It warns people to exercise a high degree of caution. To avoid all public gatherings, political rallies, demonstrations and protests as they may turn violent. A statement as such is not very conducive to tourism.
I never realised that depleted uranium does not affect Albanians in Kosovo as it appears to be a problem only in Iraq. However, “a confidential preliminary UN report leaked in May 1999, as the bombing continued, did not mince words: "This type of ammunition is nuclear waste, and its use is very dangerous and harmful," it said. After NATO released its figures, the UN recommended that "measures should be taken to prevent access." For Kosovars, like Iraqis, such warnings may be too late.”

I was in Serbia last year and I can tell you that you have no idea what most young Serbs think. You do recall that football game with your Albos from Alboland and how that went? When you guys flew that drone? Recall that one? Yep the young ones sure loved it. Perhaps you might try praising Albos in one of those night clubs in Belgrade where the young Serbs gather and see how you go there.
I went to Fort Street Boys High School, Sydney (only smart people attend that one not dumb dumbs like you – its very selective). I have a degree in Commerce specialising in finance from the University of Sydney plus a Masters in Finance from the University of Technology, Sydney. I can work anywhere in the world and have done so with my qualifications because both universities are well respected, unlike Pristina or Tirana.
On the issue of trolls, one cannot be a troll when a Serb makes a comment on a Serb-based media site. Try learning something oh moderate serb LOL.

You need to read more carefully, dear. Gjon Mark wrote, "better" not "best possible". Nobody is saying that Kosovo is the paradise on earth, but Kosovo feels that it is better today than what it was under Serbia.

Thank you. I did talk to a few governments and I'll be glad to share their response. Gjon, as a resident of Serbia's southern province, you are certainly free to leave your self-imposed ghetto when ever you want. Unfortunately the only pragmatic aspect of your "house" and your "rules", is that your "rules" have enabled all EU state governments to prevent you from traveling to their states without a visa. Its not surprising that many residents of KiM depend on their Serbian travel documents to "leave and come back as they "please". Too bad the EU discriminates against you and your fenced-in herd and treat you worse than your neighbors and friends who travel with Serbian documents. You see Gjon, I am very happy to share EU government unanimous responses: they openly discriminate against you and the residents of the fenced-in ghetto who refuse to obtain Serbian travel documents.

Yes, Serbia's rules allow you to travel freely, as you please, in your country. Your rules about leaving "as we please" for EU states...are your delusion, that is unless you have Serbian travel documents.

US Special Forces

In a way you're right and most of the Whites are the US Special Forces here. The question is how much does it meet your real interests? By the way every year they organize competitions between the special forces. Guess from one attemp who is winning them regularly? Right! It is Spetsnaz GRU G.SH. MoD RF ...
