Croatia will choose between Social Democratic Party candidate Ivo Josipovic and independent Milan Bandic in Sunday’s presidential runoff. There are about 4.5 million registered voters in Croatia. Croatia votes for new president The two candidates finished ahead of the other ten participating in the first round of elections held on December 27, in which Josipovic took 32.42 percent of the vote and Bandic won 14.83 percent. The candidate that takes more than 50 percent of the vote in the second round will be the new president. It is almost certain that Josipovic will win, according to the latest surveys. There are a total of 6,863 polling station in Croatia and abroad that will be open until 19:00 CET. The first official early results are expected to be announced at midnight.
