Austrian bank involved in arms trafficking?

Austrian police have discovered documents which prove involvement of Hypo Alpe-AdriaBank in arms trafficking in Croatia. The allegations also concern weapons trade in other parts of former Yugoslavia, Slovenian business daily Finance writes. Austrian bank involved in arms trafficking? The newspaper has reported that the documents are linking the bank to sales of weapons in Croatia and in the territory of former Yugoslavia. The documents in question also mention names of Croatian General Vladimir Zagorac and former Croatian PM Ivo Sanader, who has addressed the public and denied the allegations. According to this, money for the purchase of weapons was collected via Hypo Alpe-Adria Bank accounts, while after the war in Croatia, Zagorac was taking favorable loans from the same bank in Klagenfurt, Austria, that allowed him to build his business empire. According to the Slovenian daily, the investigation into the bank’s suspicious business should also be concluded this fall in Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia.
