Kosovo round goes "in very good atmosphere" - Mogherini

"We took stock of the implementation of the agreements reached in the Dialogue: the 2011 Agreement on Acceptance of University Diplomas and Freedom of Movement Agreement, the First Agreement of April 2013 and the August agreements of 2015," Mogherini's statement said, and added:

"It was confirmed today (Wednesday) that the mutual acceptance of educational and professional diplomas and certificates is becoming a reality. On this basis, students will be able to continue their studies and professionals will be able to improve their employment prospects, both in Serbia and in Kosovo. We also significantly advanced on the implementation of the agreement on Freedom of Movement, in particular on the provisions on license plates."

The discussion furthermore focused on "the commitment of both sides to work on the implementation of the agreement for the establishment of the Association/Community of Serb majority municipalities, based on already signed agreements," said the EU official, adding it was also "agreed to start discussions on direct air and rail connections between Kosovo and Serbia."

"I want to thank the prime ministers of Serbia and Kosovo for their continued commitment to further normalize their relations within the framework of the Dialogue. Today's meetings demonstrated their willingness to move forward with a very constructive approach. We all have in mind the need to bring direct and concrete benefits to all people in Serbia and in Kosovo who wish to advance on their European path. The EU will continue to support the full implementation of today's outcome, of previous agreements and of further progress in normalization," said the statement.

Earlier in the day, during a break in the meeting, Vucic said the discussion was about "unlock" the process of the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO).

Director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric said that the round of the dialogue held yesterday resulted in "great prospects" that the drafting of the ZSO statute could begin.

In his statement after the meeting that lasted longer than three hours, Mustafa said there was no deadline to produce this draft.
