BELGRADE First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will visit Kosovo and Metohija on Friday, the Government Office for Kosovo said on Tuesday. Yesterday, it was announced that Vucic would go to Kosovo "on Thursday." Deputy PM to travel to Kosovo on Friday Vucic said last Friday that he would travel to Kosovo "together with Minister Aleksandar Vulin before the November 3 local elections," adding that it was "essential for the Serbs to vote." Vucic canceled his visit to the province last week as the authorities in Pristina did not allow Vulin to accompany him, saying that he on a previous occasion "entered Kosovo illegally." The authorities in Kosovo in the meantime launched an investigation against Vulin and demanded from the Basic Court of southern Kosovska Mitrovica to issue a warrant for his arrest. Tanjug is reporting today, quoting "sources from the Kosovo government", that Vucic's visit has been approved, but the Pristina-based Albanian language daily Tribuna says that Vulin will not be allowed to enter the territory. This decision is reportedly supported by the EU, "because of Vulin's activities that are contrary to the Brussels agreement." According to the same sources, "if tensions on this issue continue," EU's Catherine Ashton could invite Ivica Dacic and Hashim Thaci to Brussels on Wednesday, "so they could reach an agreement on this question."
