EU officials react to arrest of Hague fugitive

President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek welcomed on Thursday the arrest of former commander of the Bosnian Serb Army Ratko Mladic. Mladic's arrest is a proof of Serbia's efforts in cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), Burzek said. Mann added that Ashton welcomed Mladic's arrest as an important step forward for Serbia and international justice. Ashton is scheduled to arrive in Serbia soon.
