Montenegrin embassy fresh in Belgrade

Anka Vojvodić has become the first Montenegrin ambassador to Serbia. She announced that her main task was to improve the economic relations between Serbia and Montenegro. “Montenegro plans to build friendly bilateral relations within the region, but the priority is given to furthering traditionally stable relations with Serbia, the biggest country in the region”, Anka added.

The Montenegrin ambassador remarked that relations between Serbia and Montenegro kicked off well after the referendum. The health insurance, student status and border regime agreements have already been signed. However, Serbia hasn’t yet established its embassy in Montenegro, even though six months have past since the referendum.

“We understand that the Serbian Government has not found time to dwell on this issue yet, due to the current situation in Serbia and the upcoming elections, but we expect that the embassy issue will soon be resolved.”, Vojvodić commented.
