Activist network says 120,000 people died in Syria

Around 120,000 people have been killed in Syria since March 2011, when civil war broke out in this Middle Eastern country.

These figures have been released by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a London-based activist network. Activist network says 120,000 people died in Syria The Observatory, which monitors the number of victims through a network of activists in Syria, said that 120,296 people were killed, of which 61,067 civilians, including 6,365 children. The government forces of President Bashar al-Assad lost 29,954 soldiers, as well as 18,678 pro-government fighters and 187 Hezbollah militants, according to this data. Among those killed, the report added, were also 2,202 deserters from the army and about 5,375 opposition fighters, many of whom were foreigners.
