Russia Today (RT) said that firefighters managed to quickly douse the blaze, the cause of which is unknown at this time. However, a preliminary investigation indicates a technical failure in a power line inside a tunnel. The Russian media said that the station and the tunnel had been damaged in the fire, but Metro operations resumed about three hours after the incident.
