The Frikom company has donated nearly ten tons of frozen peas to the B92 Fund's Food for All campaign. The donation will be delivered to all soup kitchens that can store frozen food, while a batch of 300 kilograms was delivered on Wednesday to the soup kitchen in the town of Smederevo. Anti-hunger campaign gets new donation B92 CEO Veran Matic, who initiated the campaign aimed at combating hunger in the country, said each donation was important, bearing in the mind the rising food prices. He also appealed on food processing companies to donate their products to the campaign, instead of throwing food away in protest when dissatisfied with market prices. "This year, food has gotten increasingly more expensive, and in the summer some soup kitchens are closed," said Matic, stressing the importance of the fact that Food for All was joined by companies, but also the government and its Ministry of Agriculture. "The government has also made important decisions when it comes to continued supplies for soup kitchens, and opening new ones. We expect these activities to be realized as soon as possible so that the poor municipalities and regions that are most vulnerable can receive the minimal support that a humane society can offer." Matic stressed that the B92 Fund will work to bring food to the existing soup kitchens, but also to spur innovative projects and self-employment through social entrepreneurship, together with humanitarian and non-governmental organizations, and in this way fight the root cause of poverty. Food for All, one of many humanitarian campaigns initiated by the B92 Fund, seeks to combat hunger in Serbia with continued action, rather than occasional campaigns. The campaign can be supported by sending text messages to 2500 from all three Serbian mobile operators' networks. The messages are charged RSD 100, plus taxes. Organizations and companies that wish to help with individual and group donations can find more information on these pages, along with information about the donations gathered thus far.
