Peć residents protest poor state of security

Pec residents are holding mass protests against the blind eye being turned to the poor work of the police, judges, and prosecutors in this region of Kosovo. The protest was organized because of the hundreds of unsolved murders over the last ten years after conflicts in Pec. They said that insecurity in Pec is being cased by crime groups, murderers, and the lack of functioning judicial bodies and police administrations. Protest organizers called on the police, courts, and prosecutors to solve the unsolved murders for the sake of the young people of Pec, and to arrest all criminals and implement the law in order for residents of the town to be able to live freely and safely. The last serious incident in Pec occurred five days ago when one person was killed and three were wounded after an unidentified attacker fired shots in a local dance club.
