A malfunction in the Kosovo B power plant's Block B1 has led to new electric power supply restrictions, officials have confirmed. A spokesman for the Kosovo power company, KEK, said that Block B2 is now one of only two producers of power in Kosovo, with its 260 megawatts output. Kosovo suffers fresh power cuts The province also relies on the Gazivoda hydro power plant, which produces 16 megawatts, and the 100 megawatts imported from Albania. The residents, divided into three groups, are experiencing power cuts according to a system where one groups has electricity for two hours, and is then left without it for the next four; another pattern is three hours with, and three without power, while the luckiest consumers have electricity for five hours, followed by one hour of power cuts. KEK could not specify when they expected to repair the Block B1.
