Leskovac war veterans say they will insist on receiving the same wages as war veterans from Toplicka received in November 2007. They will assist the government working group in Belgrade in preparing regulations that should lead to an edict on a lasting solution to their wage demands, which date back to their service in the Kosovo conflict in 1999. Leskovac veterans demand equal terms Leskovac veterans strike leader Dusan Nikolic said that they had agreed on a minimum of common interests that they would not back down from. One of the demands will be that the edict be reached at the next government session on Thursday, and if this proves impossible, Nikolic said, they will leave the working group negotiations. After several months of protest, it was agreed to pay the Toplicka war veterans an average of EUR 2506, to be paid in six equal monthly installments.

Leskovac veterans strike leader Dušan Nikolić said that they had agreed on a minimum of common interests that they would not back down from.
