“However, Tolimir and Mladić have parted company a while ago, and the fact that we arrested Tolimir does not necessarily mean we have moved closer to Mladić,” Ljajić explained.

When asked whether Tolimir was hiding in Serbia, Ljajić replied that judging by the cases of the war crimes indictees who were already handed over to the Hague, they mostly used to hid in the border area between the RS and Serbia.

He added that no one was familiar with the whereabouts of Radovan Karadžić who also tops the Hague most wanted list, adding that Serbia should focus on the remaining three fugitives, including Ratko Maldić, Stojan Župljanin and Goran Hadžić.

“This is the moment when Župljanin and Hadžić should surrender. I believe that the Tolimir case has demonstrated that no one can hide forever. As for Mladić, I doubt he could ever turn himself in,” Ljajić concluded.

Radicals: Tolimir was arrested in Belgrade

Zdravko Tolimir was arrested in Belgrade, and not as was officially announced on the border with the Republic of Srpska, a SRS official has said.

Serb Radical Party (SRS) secretary general Aleksandar Vučić said Sunday the Radicals will inform the public on Tuesday or Wednesday with reliable proof that Tolimir was arrested in Belgrade.

He also said that the entire action organized on the border between Serbia and the Republic of Srpska in which police arrested Hague indictee Zdravko Tolimir was staged.

“We have the name of a man in whose apartment Tolimir was apprehended, and we are trying to find out the identity of a woman who rented the apartment on Tolimir’s behalf,” he said, adding that both of them were brought in for questioning by the police, and later released.
