Election commission head "expects no problems in Kosovo"

"We have brought an instruction to carry out elections in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija and basically the voting will proceed in the same way as in 2012 and 2014," Djurdjevic said.

He added there "should be about 6.7 million" eligible voters in Serbia - the same as was the case two years ago.

"The final number of voters will be known on April 10 once the electoral rolls have been closed," he told state broadcaster RTS.

Speaking about the cost of the elections, Djurdjevic said that about 60 percent of the total budget set aside for this purpose will be used to finance election boards.

Serbia will hold early parliamentary, provincial, and local elections on April 24.
