PM backs ministers criticized after helicopter crash

Vucic was speaking late on Monday after the meeting of the presidency of his party, the SNS.

"We have four scenarios for a government reshuffle, a conclusion has not yet been reached on this issue and the talks within the leading party of the ruling coalition will continue," he said.

Asked during a press conference whether the meeting of the SNS presidency discussed a possible government reshuffle, he said it would "certainly not be just a cosmetic change."

"One of option is a change within the coalition powers, a second concerns bringing about major changes in the SNS, a third involves a change in the government leadership, and a fourth that no changes take place until December, until the holding of provincial and local elections," said Vucic.

Asked which he thought was the best option, Vucic said that he expected the SNS to support the decision of their leader.

“I think I still have a majority support in the party,” he said.

Vucic also asserted that businessman Miroslav Miskovic, currently on trial for financial fraud, "has a much more serious financial and media influence than previously estimated."

Vucic said that there was "evidence that the tycoon-mafia lobbies, including the Miskovic clan, were doing everything they could to prevent changes from taking place in the country, so that they could continue to plunder Serbia.”

“The great financial crimes” will soon be proven in court, the prime minister said

“I see some of them are very nervous, having attempted a lot of things through their media outlets. They are paying a lot of people... and I have evidence to prove it,” said Vucic.

“You would be surprised to learn how broad and significant Miskovic’s influence on the financial and media sector really is," he said, and added:

“He has a lot of money and he is not really fond of the idea of waiting for a verdict, which he said would not be the guilty one."

Vucic also announced that the SNS presidency decided to hold party elections "in the next two or two and half months."

He told reporters these elections are "very important so that the party could be ready for the elections on the provincial and local level end of the year."

"The task of the SNS will be to win convincingly, for us that would be a margin larger than 20, 30, 40 percent," said he.

Vucic also said that his party will in the future meetings of the presidency consider the possibility of introducing changes to the electoral system in Serbia

This was his response when reporters asked what the SNS thought about Deputy PM Kori Udovicki's statement about changing the electoral system.

"If Kori Udovicki announced it, we are unimportant, if Kori says so it will be so," Vucic was quoted as saying.
