BELGRADE If Serbia did not get a date for the start of the EU accession talks in June, it would be because of certain EU member states, Deputy PM Suzana Grubjesic says. “I do not believe in theories that everything depends on Germany. A voice of every member state is still important,” she told daily Vecernje novosti. Decision on date “doesn’t depend only on Germany” “Germany is the largest and most powerful, nobody is trying to dispute that. But we need to talk with all 27 countries and secure support. Our next destination is Berlin,” Grubjesic was quoted as saying. The deputy prime minister for European integration explained that the Serbian delegation would in Berlin see if there was support and if chances of getting a date for the beginning of the EU accession negotiations in June were better. “There are several different speculations but let us wait for the European Commission’s report on April 16 that we expect to be positive and that it will give a recommendation to the Council to start the negotiations with Serbia. Until then, we must not just sit idly, of course,” Grubjesic noted. Suzana Grubjesic (Tanjug, file) Vecernje novosti
