Štrpce reconnected to power

Electricity was restored in Strpce in Kosovo this afternoon after 34 days. Previously, reports said there were that two mobile teams of the Kosovo Electric Corporation (KEK) in the village in the south of the province today. One of the teams was collecting money from the households that still owed the company the agreed upon lump sum of EUR 26. Strpce reconnected to power According to the agreement, 70 percent of the households had to pay before electricity is turned on. The other KEK team was "going from house to house and from store to store in Strpce to check if they have paid the EUR 26 installment". A small part of Strpce, which is networked with the village of Gotovusa, had electricity since Friday, when the power was turned on for that village. KEK workers, however, disconnecting Strpce residents in that area that had yet to pay from electrical posts. Those who are yet to pay in the areas still in the dark were also disconnected in this way. KEK claimed that "cutting off those who have not paid will make turning on of power to those that have paid faster". On Friday night, 15 villages in the region received electricity after 70 percent of the households in the area paid.

According to the agreement, 70 percent of the households had to pay before electricity is turned on.

On Friday night, 15 villages in the region received electricity after 70 percent of the households in the area paid.
