Parliament will debate the motion of no confidence in the government at its session tomorrow. In order to bring forward the debate on the budget, the draft law on citizens' associations has been withdrawn from procedure. No confidence debate on Thursday B92 understands that the decision to withdraw this law was taken at a cabinet conference call today. MP are due to end their debate on the laws currently on the agenda this evening. A day for voting will then be scheduled. B92's source states that Mps will open the debate on the no confidence motion tomorrow. Earlier today, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic said that he expected the 2009 budget to be adopted by the end of the year, and if not, temporary financing would only be applied for a few days. Speaking to reporters after a meeting with exporters at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Cvetkovic said that the government would be withdrawing one law from parliamentary procedure to speed up the debate and move on to the budget as soon as possible. He could not however confirm that the debate would reach the agenda by the end of this week. Cvetkovic explained that “all the plans have been set up in such a way that the budget gets adopted by the end of the calendar year," adding that the alternative was temporary financing that would last just a few days until the budget's eventual adoption.
