In a sign of solidarity with the eight members of the council, 150 workers left the factory and announced that they would not return until their colleagues were allowed to return to their places of work as well.

Council president Miroslav Miletić said that the production director Zoran Golubović tried to settle a score with the members of the council, and that the members were called in this weekend to be bribed in order to refrain from protesting.

He said that one of the demands was to have wages on a more regular basis, adding that there is plenty of work to be done.

Factory General Director Dragiša Ristić was not available for comments and his secretary said that he did not wish to speak to the press.
