Turkish passenger grounds plane, attacks police in Belgrade

The Turk "demolished the transit room and fought with three police officers," the paper writes, adding that all four had to be taken to the emergency room.

The man was behaving abusively toward fellow passengers and the cabin crew on the plane, so as the incident "culminated while the plane was in Serbia's airspace" the crew decided to request emergency landing in Belgrade.

The Serbian air traffic control notified the police, who arrested the man who was offering no resistance, took him to the transit area, and removed his handcuffs.

After this, the Turkish citizen attacked the police. The report says that he was injured in his forehead, and speculates that the man was " probably under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or medications."
