Police officer killed in northern Serbian town

A policeman was shot and killed in the town of Zrenjanin in Vojvodina, northern Serbia, while another was wounded when they tried to bring in a suspect. The shooter - identified as 30-year-old Goran Petrovic - was subsequently shot and killed by police. In the shooting that followed, another officer was wounded, before the suspect himself was killed. Petrovic was previously convicted on two counts of murder, and according to reports, was a violent drug dealer who also engaged in racketeering and extortion.
