A man named by Nazim Blaca as one of the killers of political opponents in Kosovo says he was also paid to kill Blaca himself, an Albanian language daily says. Pristina's Koha Ditore writes today that an audio recording exists of Husri Rama admitting that he took money to kill Blaca – another self-confessed executioner. Kosovo: Hitman hired to kill hitman “He [Saban Syla] gave me EUR 100,000, this was at the start, I did not take all of it, [I took] about EUR 3,000-4,000 to start. Saban gave this to me from his own hands. I called Nazim and told him to get out of there,” Rama was heard saying in the 20 minute-long recording. According to the family of Blaca, the deal between Rama and Syla was made in August 2007. Saban Syla is a close relative of Azem Syla, one of the former leaders of the ethnic Albanian Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). Blaca, himself a former member of KLA and of the so-called Kosovo Intelligence Agency (SHIK) said during a recorded testimony that he decided to speak about his participation in murders, attempted murders and intimidation of 17 people in Kosovo, among them members of the Democratic Union of Kosovo, in order to leave evidence about the crimes in case he is killed. EU mission in Kosovo, EULEX, is investigating Blaca and his claims that he was involved in the killings.
