Serbian currency continues to strengthen

The value of the Serbian dinar (RSD) against the euro (EUR) continued to increase on Tuesday, with the middle exchange rate reaching RSD 114.5399.

BELGRADE The value of the Serbian dinar (RSD) against the euro (EUR) continued to increase on Tuesday, with the middle exchange rate reaching RSD 114.5399. This is 0.1 percent less than a month ago, and 0.2 up year-on-year. Serbian currency continues to strengthen The Serbian currency also continued to rise against the U.S. dollar to set the indicative exchange rate of RSD 84.6312 on Tuesday - a 2.1 percent increase compared to last month, and 5.8 percent compared to last year. Since the start of this year the central bank (NBS) sold EUR 425mn on the inter-bank hard currency market, and bought EUR 90mn, in order to prevent "excessive daily exchange rate fluctuations." Serbian currency continues to strengthen

The Serbian currency also continued to rise against the U.S. dollar to set the indicative exchange rate of RSD 84.6312 on Tuesday - a 2.1 percent increase compared to last month, and 5.8 percent compared to last year.

Since the start of this year the central bank (NBS) sold EUR 425mn on the inter-bank hard currency market, and bought EUR 90mn, in order to prevent "excessive daily exchange rate fluctuations."

The Serbian dinar reached its highest value against the euro so far this year on April 30 (110.5426), and plunged to its lowest level on September 22 (115.2574).
