EPS to ask for increase in prices

Serbian public power company EPS will file a request with the National Energy Agency for a ten percent increase in the price of electricity. The price hike should be introduced from January 1, 2010, EPS General Director Dragomir Markovic said on Wednesday. EPS to ask for increase in prices He also announced that the EPS was planning for another ten percent price increase on July 1, 2010. Speaking during a news conference, Markovic stated that the EPS would have a RSD 2bn loss at the end of 2009, which was "much less than the RSD 12bn estimated earlier". This came because of increased revenues from exports, reduced import of power and overall expenses, said Markovic.
