President of the Executive Council of Vojvodina Bojan Pajtic says the macroeconomic climate and tax policy are Serbia’s advantages. As he officially opened the Investexpo fair in Novi Sad, he added that the country had these advantages compared to the region while attracting foreign investments. "Good microeconomics, scourge of corruption" Pajtic also stated Serbia was still having trouble containing corruption "which was very common when leasing construction land in local communities". “Once we have overcome that scourge, we will be able to ensure that we really are the most competitive area in this part of Europe,” he said and added that foreign investors could think only about developing their business then. He pointed out that “our joint responsibility was to build such legal system and environment where every investor would feel safe”. Pajtic added that the fact that 40 towns and municipalities participated in the fair showed that "neither the world economic crisis not the flu" could stop the needs and interests of people to develop their communities. According to him, Vojvodina will continue to implement measures to attract investments, develop infrastructure and decrease unemployment in future.
