Srbijagas CEO Sasa Ilic says that a joint company with Gazprom is due to be formed in October. That company will handle the South Stream project in Serbia. "Gazprom, Srbijagas to join forces in October" “The company will only be a formalization of our further activities, including those that we’ve agreed upon so far,” Ilic told B92. He believes that the pipeline’s capacity could be increased from the minimum 10 billion cubic meters, since South Stream will split into two branches in Serbia. "If we have two branches that divide in Bulgaria—one going towards Italy via Greece, and the other going to the north of Italy via Serbia, Hungary, Austria and Slovenia—the branch that passes through Serbia will definitely need more gas. That’s why it is realistic to expect the capacity to exceed 10 billion cubic meters,” Ilic said.
