The Economy Ministry says that the tender for the Zastava Motor company will be called on December 27. Along with Zastava, MIS, Jat, Telekom and 750 other public companies are expected to be privatized in 2008, according to Minister Mladjan Dinkic, adding that EPS, Nikola Tesla Airport and Galenika would be privatized in 2009 and 2010. Tender for Zastava this week “As far as Zastava is concerned, there will be a deadline of three months for registration, after which offers will be accepted until May. As far as Geneks is concerned, first, block 20 will be privatized, which includes the Kontinental Hotel, Geneks apartments, the Impuls hall, and a hotel in Kopaonik,” Dinkic said. One of the conditions of the Geneks privatization will be that the operator must have a reputation of at least a four-star rating and will have to retain all employees. Dinkic said that offers would be accepted for Geneks until March 23, and that a winner would be decided at auction on March 31. According to Dinkic, Jat Airways’ financial adviser has completed a report on possible privatization models, and preparations for the sale of the national airline are under way. “Jat will be sold without debts, because the state will assume them completely, and the starting price will be EUR 120mn euros with obligatory investments. The sale of Jat Technical is also being prepared,” Dinkic said. Dinkic added that he was waiting for an official decision on the privatization of NIS, so that the tender could begin.
