The Serbian government will debate the 2008 draft budget at its session next Monday.

The Serbian government will debate the 2008 draft budget at its session next Monday. Although Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic announced the budget would make it to the cabinet meeting agenda today, this was postponed due to "inability of a number of ministers to attend the session." Gov't to discuss 2008 budget on Monday It has transpired that Djelic himself, Agriculture Minister Slobodan Milosavljevic and Trade and Services Minister Predrag Bubalo were attending an export summit across town, in Belgrade's Hyatt Hotel. According to information which earlier came from Finance Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, the budget will have balanced income and revenues, worth RSD 630bn, (some EUR 8bn) with a lower deficit. The government was under legal obligations to declare itself on the draft budget by November 1, but this was postponed. The legal deadline for adoption in parliament is December 15.
