Trump: "The war will end very quickly, U.S. has total control of the Strait of Hormuz"
U.S. President Donald Trump said today that the war with Iran will end “very quickly” and that Washington has almost complete control over the Strait of Hormuz.
“You will see things happen very quickly,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, adding that the war would end “one way or another,” Fox News reported.
Trump said that Iran had been “practically destroyed,” claiming that its economy was in poor condition, with inflation exceeding 300 percent, and that Iran’s navy and air force had been destroyed and its air defense systems eliminated.
Speaking about the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said that the U.S. had “almost complete control” over the waterway, then clarified: “I would say complete control.”
He added that more oil had passed through the Strait of Hormuz over the past three days than at any other time in history.
“I’m not talking only about the period since the war began. I’m talking about any time in history. That oil had been stockpiled,” Trump said.
