Putin wins; First decision already made

Central Election Commission Chairwoman Ella Pamfilova said that this was the highest voter turnout in the past three parliamentary election cycles, RIA Novosti reported.

According to the final results, the ruling United Russia party won 349 seats.

The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) won 37 seats, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) 23, New People 19, A Just Russia 17, while the Rodina party won one seat.

Four independent candidates also won seats.

“For the first time, 46 participants in the special military operation were elected to the State Duma, accounting for more than 10 percent of the total number of seats,” Pamfilova said.

She also noted that electronic voting proceeded without any problems, with more than seven million people taking part.

The elections for deputies to the State Duma, along with other elections held simultaneously, took place from September 18 to 20.

The first session of the ninth State Duma will be held on September 30, following a decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Convene the first session of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the ninth convocation on September 30, 2026, at 10 a.m.,” the document states, according to the TASS news agency.
