Xi arrives in the United States; Trump and Melania welcome him VIDEO

The delegation welcoming Xi also included U.S. First Lady Melania Trump, while the Chinese leader was accompanied, among others, by his wife, Peng Liyuan.

Xi arrived for a three-day state visit, during which he will also visit the White House, where a state dinner will be held with the participation of numerous representatives from the technology sector.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said earlier this week that Xi and Trump would exchange views during the visit on issues concerning China-U.S. relations, as well as world peace and development.

Guo said that diplomacy at the level of heads of state plays an important role in providing strategic direction for China-U.S. relations.

“China is ready to work with the U.S. side to enrich the substance of constructive strategic stability, enhance dialogue and cooperation, appropriately manage differences, and continuously contribute to the well-being of both peoples, as well as to peace, stability and prosperity in the world,” Guo said.
