Complete cessation of the war; Conditions revealed
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said today that the war with the United States could come to an end.
They said this could happen if Washington stops threatening Iran and responds to the conditions it has set, including those concerning its nuclear program.
“If America wants to end this situation, it must, in addition to completely stopping the war, refrain from repeating its threats, withdraw Israeli forces from Lebanon, end the blockade imposed on Yemen, release $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets, and cease all interference in the country’s nuclear and missile capabilities,” said Revolutionary Guard spokesman Hossein Mohebi, according to the Fars news agency.
Earlier today, the Revolutionary Guard announced that the new “restricted zone” beyond the Strait of Hormuz would include parts of the Gulf of Oman and areas beyond it, noting that its exact coordinates would be announced later.
Mohebi told state television that the area “begins roughly near Chabahar” and covers part of the Sea of Oman and another part of the Arabian Sea, warning that any vessel entering the area without coordination would face “punitive measures.”
He explained that the “measures will include denying vessels access to navigation-related services.”
Traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has been almost completely disrupted, affecting global energy markets.
Iran has imposed a requirement for vessels to obtain prior permission to transit the strait, a move opposed by Washington and several countries in the region.
The United States responded by imposing a blockade on Iranian ports, along with new sanctions targeting Iranian airlines, as part of an intensification of economic pressure on Tehran.
