Following the American military strike on a site on the outskirts of Bandar Abbas airport using air-launched missiles, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps carried out new attacks targeting the U.S. airbase from which the attack had allegedly originated in the early hours of Thursday morning.

“This response is a serious warning to the enemy that it must understand that an act of aggression will not go unanswered,” the IRGC stressed.

The elite military force also warned of a “more decisive” response should the enemy repeat any act of aggression.

It was further stated that responsibility for the consequences of any IRGC retaliation lies with the aggressor.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that it targeted a U.S. airbase at 4:50 a.m. local time following the American strike near Bandar Abbas airport.

The IRGC did not disclose the location of the American base that was targeted, according to Mehr News Agency.

Iranian forces stated that any repeat of aggression against the country would provoke a “more decisive” response, adding that responsibility for the consequences lies with the “aggressor.”

As a reminder, the U.S. military carried out new strikes overnight on military sites in Iran, while four Iranian combat drones that posed a threat around the Strait of Hormuz were also shot down, a U.S. official said earlier today.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters that an Iranian ground control station in Bandar Abbas — from which a fifth drone was allegedly set to be launched — was hit in the airstrike. He added that the actions were “purely defensive and aimed at maintaining the ceasefire,” which came into effect on April 8.
