First, the Chinese president said that he had friendly and productive talks with Russian President Putin, during which the high level and nature of China–Russia relations were emphasized.

“I have just had detailed, friendly, and productive talks with President Putin. President Putin is visiting China for the 25th time. That in itself testifies to the high level and high quality of China–Russia relations,” said Xi Jinping in a statement to the media, according to the RIA Novosti.

According to him, relations between China and Russia are reaching new heights. “Our relations are reaching new heights and are rightly regarded as a model for relations between two major powers,” said Xi Jinping.

The Chinese president stated that Russia and China make a significant contribution to the protection of international justice.

“Our countries… are firmly guided by the spirit of mutual respect, equality, fairness and justice, and mutually beneficial cooperation, and they make a significant contribution to the preservation of international justice and the building of a new type of international relations,” Xi said.

According to him, Russia and China represent a model for relations between two major powers and must serve as strategic support for one another.

“The two sides should follow the trend of the modern era toward peace, development, cooperation and mutual benefit, and strive for higher-quality development of relations between China and Russia… They should strengthen high-quality political interactions and serve as strategic support for each other,” said Xi Jinping.

He also called for strengthening political trust between Moscow and Beijing, as well as opening new horizons in the development of relations between the two countries.

Despite difficult external conditions, trade between Russia and China has increased by 20 percent since the beginning of the year and has exceeded 200 billion dollars for the third consecutive year, Xi said, adding that Russia and China have for years adhered to the principles of non-alignment and non-aggression toward third parties.

Xi also said that Russia and China will firmly defend the authority of the United Nations and oppose any manifestations of hegemony, warning that there is a risk of a return to a “jungle world” in international relations.

Xi also assessed that denying the results of the Second World War and reviving Nazi ideology constitutes a provocation, and that it is necessary to “oppose all manifestations of unilateralism and hegemony, attempts to turn history backwards, especially provocative actions aimed at denying the results of the Second World War, and the revival of symbols of fascism and militarism.”

He added that Russia and China should continue to support each other on issues that affect their core interests. “It is important… that we continue to firmly support issues that affect each other’s core interests and concerns, and that we maintain close strategic dialogue and contact,” concluded Xi Jinping.

“Thank you, Xi…”

Russian President Vladimir Putin then stated that during his talks with the Chinese president all key areas of cooperation were discussed, emphasizing that Russia and China are committed to an independent and autonomous foreign policy, and that their relations serve as a model for how relations between countries and peoples should be built today.

Putin thanked the President of the People's Republic of China and all Chinese colleagues for the warm and cordial reception of the Russian delegation, and assessed that Russia and China are important trading partners, and that relations between the two countries have reached an unprecedented level and continue to develop, according to the RIA Novosti.

According to Vladimir Putin, the Russia–China talks took place in a warm, friendly, and constructive atmosphere.

“I emphasize that Russia and China are important trading partners. In 2025, trade turnover reached nearly 240 billion dollars. Its structure has expanded, including goods with high added value,” Putin said in a statement to the media after talks with the Chinese president.

He said that Russia is ready to continue reliably ensuring uninterrupted energy supplies to China.

“Russia and China actively cooperate in the energy sector. Our country is one of the largest exporters of oil, natural gas, including liquefied natural gas, and coal to China. Of course, we are ready to continue to reliably ensure uninterrupted supplies of all these fuels,” Putin said.

The Russian president stated that almost all Russia–China transactions are conducted in the currencies of the two countries, the ruble and the yuan.

Vladimir Putin emphasized that Russia and China are committed to an independent and autonomous foreign policy, and that relations between Russia and China serve as a model for how relations between countries and peoples should be built today.

“Our relations are self-sufficient, do not depend on the current global situation, and serve as a model for how relations between countries and peoples should be built today. Our peoples show sincere interest in each other’s history, art, and spiritual values. Cultural, scientific, and youth exchanges are intensifying. Mutual tourist flows are growing,” Putin said.

According to him, there is great potential for cooperation between Russia and China in the field of renewable energy sources.

He said that Russia and China have built a sustainable system of mutual trade that is protected from negative trends in global markets. “In essence, we have built a stable system of mutual trade that is protected from external influences and negative trends in global markets,” Putin said.

According to him, the Russia–China alliance has a stabilizing role on the international stage.

“The main thing is that Russia and China are committed to an independent and autonomous foreign policy, that they act in close strategic partnership, and that they play an important stabilizing role on the global stage. Russia and China are strongly developing industrial cooperation, creating new joint value chains, and introducing advanced technologies and innovation,” Putin assessed.

He emphasized that many of the agreements signed between Russia and China are aimed at deepening economic cooperation, and that the two countries have concluded a significant package of intergovernmental, interagency, and corporate documents, some of which were signed in China.

“Many of them are aimed at further deepening economic cooperation. The production of cars of Chinese brands has been established in Moscow and in a number of Russian regions,” Putin noted.

He added that Russia and China are working together on the development of transport and logistics routes, which will increase the speed of freight traffic between the two countries.

Putin stressed that Russia and China are united in their support for the protection of international law. “Moscow and Beijing are united in their support for the protection of international law and the provisions of the Charter of the United Nations in their entirety, comprehensiveness, and interconnection,” he said.

The Russian president expressed confidence that his visit to Beijing will strengthen Russia–China friendship.

“I am confident that this current visit and the talks will further strengthen Russia–China friendship and contribute to the well-being and prosperity of our peoples,” Putin concluded.

At Xi Jinping’s invitation, Vladimir Putin arrived in Beijing on a two-day official visit last night, and today the two presidents held talks in Beijing, followed by an expanded-format meeting between the two delegations.
