The second day of Ukraine-Russia talks has begun: Efforts are underway to synchronize positions

Ukraine and Russia have begun the second day of talks in Abu Dhabi to discuss how to end their four-year war, said Rustem Umerov, head of the Ukrainian negotiating team and Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council.

“The second day of talks in Abu Dhabi has begun. We are working in the same formats as yesterday: trilateral consultations, group work, and further synchronization of positions,” Umerov said in a post on Telegram.

After the first day of talks, Umerov said that the trilateral discussions in Abu Dhabi were “substantive and productive” and focused on concrete steps and practical solutions.

The Ukrainian delegation includes Chief of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov, his deputy Serhiy Kyslytsia, Member of Parliament David Arakhamia, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov, Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Vadym Skibitsky, and Presidential Office advisor Oleksandr Bevts, according to the Ukrainian portal UNN.

The Russian team was led by Igor Kostyukov, Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff.

The discussions also involved U.S. President’s Special Envoy Stephen Biegun and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
