Drama begins; U.S. aircraft carrier deployed

The Pentagon is relocating an aircraft carrier from the South China Sea to the Middle East, into the area of responsibility of U.S. Central Command, amid escalating tensions between the Trump administration and Iran.

The naval formation, centered around the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, also includes other vessels and at least one attack submarine, and the transfer is expected to take about seven days, reports NewsNation.

 

The area of responsibility of U.S. Central Command includes Northeast Africa, the Middle East, and Central and South Asia, encompassing 21 countries such as Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan.
