Plan A, B, and C: Ukraine is losing

“That is plan A, B, and C. The situation tomorrow will be different from today,” Peskov said, reported by RIA Novosti.

Answering a journalist’s question about what a political solution for Donbas would look like, Peskov said that Kyiv is obliged to withdraw its forces beyond the administrative borders of Donbas in order to halt the fighting.

According to him, the Kremlin does not yet consider it necessary to publicly discuss the details of the peace plan, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously said is 90 percent agreed upon.

“Currently, we consider it inappropriate to comment on individual points of the discussions regarding a solution for Ukraine,” he said, commenting on the idea of establishing a free economic zone in Donbas territory currently controlled by Ukrainian forces, as well as the Kremlin’s stance on the idea of joint management of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

Peskov also noted that citizens of the European Union will have to “endure” their leaders until the next elections.

“It is unlikely that EU citizens have the right to ‘overthrow’ anyone before the elections. They will have to come to terms with the fact that the leaders will remain,” Peskov concluded.
