If Putin topples the "fortress," everything is gone
The European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stated that Donbas is not Russian President Vladimir Putin’s ultimate goal.
Speaking to reporters in Brussels, Kallas emphasized that if Russia takes Donbas, “the fortress has fallen.”
According to her, Russian forces would then “definitely continue with the conquest of all of Ukraine.”
“If Ukraine falls, then all other regions are also at risk,” Kallas noted.
Commenting on Ukraine’s NATO membership, she emphasized that the desire of all countries seeking to join the alliance is to avoid being attacked by Russia.
Kallas also announced that the EU will later today decide on new sanctions against Russia’s “shadow fleet.”
Moreover, the EU official announced that the European bloc will make key decisions on funding for Ukraine this week, and that EU leaders will meet on Thursday.
She added that a reparations loan would be made the “most credible option.”
Kallas also emphasized that security guarantees for Ukraine must be “tangible,” with “real military capabilities.”
