Sources told Politico that a potential plan agreed with Russia could be presented to Ukraine as a fait accompli.

The White House is on the verge of announcing a “major new peace deal” with Russia that, officials claim, will finally end the three-year war with Ukraine.

A senior White House official said they expect all sides to agree on a framework for ending hostilities by the end of this month — and possibly “as early as this week.”

Earlier, Axios revealed details of a secret peace plan negotiated directly between the White House and Moscow.

According to Axios, Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, held three days of talks late last month in Miami with Russian negotiator Kirill Dmitriev, and the 28-point peace plan is now on the table.

On Tuesday night, representatives of the Trump administration told Politico they were on the verge of a major breakthrough.

“This new peace plan, it seems, did not have direct input from Ukraine nor from America’s European allies. And we still have no idea about the details — about what was agreed concerning the thorniest issues such as Russia’s occupation of large parts of Ukrainian territory, the abduction of tens of thousands of Ukrainian children, or what security guarantees are being offered to Ukraine afterward,” the Brussels-based portal writes.

However, it notes that “the mood inside the White House is optimistic, and it seems the plan will be presented to Zelensky as a fait accompli.”

“What we will present to Ukraine is reasonable,” a senior White House official told Politico.

The Trump administration believes that Zelensky, who is under pressure both on the battlefield and at home (including due to a corruption scandal), will be forced to accept what is being offered.

President Volodymyr Zelensky met today in Turkey with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, where they announced they would discuss a “just peace.”
