In response to the USA: "We possess the world's most powerful nuclear triad and will be forced to take action"
Russia has the most advanced nuclear triad in the world, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated.
He emphasized that a tremendous amount of work has been done to reliably guarantee the country’s security, TASS reports.
“Our nuclear triad has been modernized. It is, in fact, the most advanced nuclear triad in the world. A lot of work has been done to reliably ensure our security,” Peskov told journalists.
Earlier today, Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with the permanent members of the Security Council regarding a response to U.S. nuclear exercises and described the situation surrounding U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement on continuing nuclear testing as a serious matter.
The Russian president added that the Security Council analyzed statements made within the U.S. governing circles, RIA Novosti reports.
Putin also stated that Moscow would be forced to take appropriate measures if the signatories of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty decide to conduct nuclear tests. At the same time, he emphasized that Russia has no intention of withdrawing from the treaty.
