Putin spoke up: We're going to launch an attack!
Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the citizens of Russia this morning, a day after suppressing the decree on the conscription of Russian citizens for military service.
According to the Russian media, he congratulated them on the Day of the entry of the DNR, LNR, Zaporozhye and Kherson Oblasts into Russia.
"Three years ago, at the referendums in Donbass and Novorussia, millions of our compatriots made the most important, fateful decision - to be with their Motherland, with Russia, to return to the family, of which they have always been a part," said the President of Russia.
He added that today, defending that decision, Russian fighters and commanders are going to launch an attack, and the whole country is fighting a just battle.
"Together we defend our love for the Motherland and the unity of historical destiny, we fight and win, we protect basic national interests, common memory and values, the Russian language, traditions, culture and religion," added Vladimir Putin.
This address by Putin followed only a day after the Russian president signed a decree on the recruitment of Russian citizens for military service in the period from October to December 2025.
The document was published on the official portal where regulations and laws are published.
"From October 1 to December 31, 2025, to carry out the recruitment of 135,000 citizens of the Russian Federation between the ages of 18 and 30 who are not in the reserve and are subject to conscription for military service," the document states.
The same decree also ordered the dismissal from military service of soldiers, sailors, sergeants and officers whose term of military service has expired.
The Russian government, regional authorities and recruitment commissions are responsible for ensuring the implementation of all necessary recruitment measures.
